The terms of using Needl.

These terms are an agreement between you and Needl Vinyl LLC (“Needl”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Needl apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV, the website at needlvinyl.app, and Needl in AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude (together, “Needl”).

By creating an account or using Needl, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Needl. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s permission.

You sign in with Sign in with Apple, or with an email and password. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@needlvinyl.app if you think someone else has used it.

You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account).

Some features need a paid plan. Plans are sold through the App Store and billed by Apple to your Apple Account.

• Renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Free trials: if a plan includes a trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period ends.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change; a new price applies from your next renewal, as Apple’s rules allow.

What you add to Needl — your records, wishlist, notes, photos, ratings and listening history — stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run Needl for you, for example to sync it across your devices and show it to the people you choose.

Please only add content you have the right to add.

Needl’s shared catalog is built with collectors. When you contribute — through Suggest an Edit, for example — you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, edit, publish and adapt that contribution in Needl, and you confirm it’s accurate to the best of your knowledge and isn’t copied from somewhere you don’t have permission to copy from. Contributions may be credited to your handle, edited or removed.

Be respectful in profiles, comments and anything other collectors can see. We may remove content or limit accounts that break these terms.

Ask AI, cover scan and Needl in AI assistants (such as ChatGPT and Claude) use machine learning. Answers can be incomplete or wrong — check anything important before relying on it.

When you connect Needl to an AI assistant, you choose what it may see and change, and you can disconnect it any time in that assistant’s settings. The assistant is run by its provider (for example OpenAI or Anthropic), under that provider’s own terms and privacy policy; we’re not responsible for how it works. An assistant can only ever use your own account, and it can never edit or remove records you own.

Needl works with services we don’t run, such as Apple Music, Spotify and Discogs. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. Some album, pressing and label details come from Discogs and other music sources; we show them as they are and can’t guarantee they’re complete or accurate.

This application uses Discogs’ API but is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs. ‘Discogs’ is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC.

Values, prices and market figures in Needl are estimates based on data from third parties. They aren’t appraisals, offers or financial advice, and what a record actually sells for can be different.

Please don’t:

• Break the law, or infringe anyone else’s rights, using Needl
• Access another person’s account or data without permission
• Scrape, copy or resell Needl’s catalog or features, or use automated means to access Needl other than through features we provide
• Interfere with, overload or try to break Needl’s security or services
• Upload harmful code, spam, or content that’s abusive, hateful or misleading

Needl — the apps, website, design, catalog compilation, names and logos — belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Needl under these terms; for the apps, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Nothing in these terms gives you rights to our trademarks.

We work hard to keep Needl running and accurate, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that Needl will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that information in it is complete or correct. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Needl. Our total liability for any claim about Needl is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Needl in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

You can stop using Needl and delete your account any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons — where we can, we’ll tell you first. If we ever stop offering Needl, we’ll give you reasonable notice so you can export your data.

We may update these terms as Needl changes. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Needl after a change, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere that gives you the right to bring claims in your own courts or under your own consumer laws, these terms don’t take that right away.
