What is Ask AI?
Ask AI answers questions about your records and favorite artists, drawing on details from the app and from the Needl community. It runs privately on your device using Apple’s Foundation Models — your questions are only ever stored on your device, never anywhere else. If a question needs more power than your device has, Needl uses Apple’s Private Cloud Compute to answer it, then returns the result to your device. Nothing is kept. Ask AI is a premium feature, available on eligible devices.
What is Pressed?
Pressed is your monthly music recap — a shareable, story-style look back at your top artists, your standout record, what you played, and how your collection grew, across both your turntable and your streaming.
Is Needl free?
Yes. Needl is free to use, with no ads and no limit on the records you can add. A few premium features — customizing your records, Listen, and Ask AI — are part of a subscription.
Is my information private?
Yes. We never track you for advertising. We do use product analytics — like which features are used — to make Needl better, and your account details (your name and email) are kept securely so your collection syncs across your devices. That’s it.
Can I import from Discogs?
Yes. Once your Discogs account is connected, anything you add there — to your collection or your wantlist — imports into Needl automatically. Love Discogs? Keep using both.
Will my artwork come over too?
Yes. You can keep the original artwork, or switch to high-fidelity Apple Music covers where available — stunning album art that looks great on any device.
Something didn’t import correctly. What can I do?
You can edit any record by hand to fix details or add anything that’s missing.
How do I edit a record’s details?
Open the record, tap to edit, and change any field you like.
Can I track records I don’t own yet?
Yes — add them to your wishlist, set how much you want each one, and keep them handy for the next time you’re digging.
How do I sort or filter my collection?
Use the sort and filter options to organize by artist, genre, year, or label.
What does Listen do?
Listen recognizes what’s spinning on your turntable using Shazam, then shows the track with full-screen artwork. Connect Spotify and you can tap the heart to save a track to your Liked Songs — right from your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. Listen is a premium feature.
How do I add a Needl widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap the add button, search for Needl, and choose your widget — Collection Value, Top Albums, Recently Added, or Wishlist Deals.
Which streaming services work with Needl?
Connect Apple Music or Spotify to sync your listening history. Saving a liked track from Listen to your Liked Songs is available on Spotify.
How does Needl calculate value?
Needl draws on real Discogs marketplace data — recent sale prices — to estimate what your records are worth.
Why did my collection’s value change?
Estimated values reflect the live marketplace, so they move as prices do. Needl keeps snapshots so you can see the trend.
Are these values exact?
They’re estimates meant to give you a sense of your collection’s worth — not a formal appraisal.
How do I find record stores near me?
Open a wishlist item to find stores nearby. With your permission, Needl uses Apple Maps to show record stores around you, with distance, directions, and more.
Where is my collection stored?
On your device, synced across your Apple devices through iCloud, and backed up to your Needl account — so it’s safe and always with you.
How do I add my first record?
Tap the add button, search for a release, and tap to add it to your collection. That’s it.
Do I need an account?
Yes, and it’s simple — just Sign in with Apple. It’s the fastest way in, and it keeps your account secure and private. Your collection stays safe and in sync across your devices.
